Richard Newman
Art studio
Figurative artist, deeply inspired by the human form and the unique lines, shapes & marks that are made when working from life. My paintings are made in response to my drawings and watercolour studies to form totally unique works of art.
WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE STUDIO
My recent series of semi-abstract paintings are a reflection of my inspiration towards human form, particularly the complexity of the torso. Using my original drawings as a guide, these paintings attempt to interpret the beauty and energy in these drawings.
I hope to captivate viewers with a display of colour and texture that transcends the boundaries of the imagination.
The new work has now been uploaded.

Ever-Evolving Project (weekly)
Collect & help support an artist's practice
This project was started in late 2022 when I started to work on a smaller scale. I wanted to make my weekly practice of life-drawings available to buy and easy to collect.
Here you will find an ever-evolving selection of drawings & watercolours from part of my weekly practice as an artist for over 20 years.
Each set usually includes 8 artworks @A5 or A4. All the work is drawn live, from professional life-models, during one session of short poses of 5, 10 and occasionally 15 minutes.
